Gay Cove offers a respite from the hustle and bustle of the Metro Atlanta area. It is a place where one can unwind, socialize with like-minded folks, or simply revel in the natural beauty surrounding.
If you’re looking to join fellow boaters, head to Marker 21 around 1 PM on weekends when regulars typically start tying up. Don’t worry, if you can’t make it on weekends – even on weekdays after work, you’ll often find boaters at Gay Cove.
The Vanns Tavern boat ramp is the nearest boat ramp available, but please note that an annual parking pass is required for parking. You can conveniently purchase this pass at Two Mile Creek boat ramp, another fantastic location for trailer boating and accessing the cove.
Gay Cove is located in the middle portion of Lake Sidney Lanier, on the west side of the lake, north of Lake Lanier Mile Marker 21.
We are two coves south of Port Royale marina on the right side just before Vann’s Tavern.
You don’t need a boat to get to the cove! To make the journey easier, we recommend bringing a float, paddle board, or noodle to swim across to the boats.
